JES Configuration

Use this page to configure Job Entry Subsystem (JES) for JCL support for this server.

JES Configuration

JES Program Path
The path for the executable files that your JCL jobs will run. Put your .gnt and .dll files on this path. For debugging, you will also need to put your .int, .idy and .cbl files on this path.
Restriction: May not exceed 4095 characters.
System Catalog
The full name (including the path) of your system catalog file. This file holds the details of data files, their attributes and locations.
Notes:
  • You cannot share a catalog between servers
  • May not exceed 260 characters
Default Allocated Dataset Location
The default directory to be used for the creation of new data sets.
Restriction: May not exceed 260 characters.
System Procedure Library
The name of your system procedure library.
  • The default value is MFE.PROCLIB.L01
  • This field can accommodate up to 15 library names, each separated by a semicolon (;)
  • Values in this field are searched after the JCLLIB entries in a JCL job are searched for cataloged procedures
Fileshare Configuration Location
The path and name of the Fileshare Configuration file.

Initiators

You can add a batch initiator that will be a permanent feature of the enterprise server. It will start when the enterprise server is started.

To add a new batch initiator:

  1. Click * New.

    This opens the JES Initiator dialog box.

  2. In the Name field, type the name of your initiator.
  3. In the Class field, type the list of job classes that you want the initiator to run.
  4. Optionally, in the Description field, type a description of the initiator.
  5. Click Save.
Note: Initiators can be modified once the enterprise server region has been stopped.

If you delete an initiator whilst the enterprise server region is running, an initiator of the same class will also be stopped from the running region.

Printers

You can add a printer SEP that will be a permanent feature of the enterprise server. It will start when the enterprise server is started.

To add a new printer SEP:

  1. Click * New.

    This opens the JES Printer dialog box.

  2. In the Name field, type the name of the printer.
  3. In the Class field, type the list of job classes that you want the printer to run.
  4. In the Exit Module field, type the program name that is to be associated with the printer process.
  5. Optionally, in the Description field, type a description of the printer.
  6. Click Save.
Note: Printers can be modified once the enterprise server region has been stopped.
