Using Oracle

Use this section to configure datastores and/or enterprise server region and cross-region databases in Oracle.

Unlike other database provider, the use of Oracle with the Micro Focus Database File Handler does not support ODBC connection types.

Connection to an Oracle database relies upon their native connection API, called OCI. Use this within a database connection string, using Oracle's Easy Connect format.

When creating datastores and region/cross-region databases, the underlying physical database must already exist within Oracle before those MFDBFH-related databases can be created. You can use one physical database that you intend to use for multiple datastores and/or region and cross-region databases, or you can use multiple physical databases for your MFDBFH datastores and databases.
