By default, graphical controls are created as permanent controls. By setting this configuration variable to 1 (on, true, yes), you cause controls to be created temporary by default. This is useful when you are converting older programs that assume that a screen update will overwrite any existing screen data. You can make individual controls permanent or temporary explicitly by using the PERMANENT and TEMPORARY styles. See Global Styles in ACUCOBOL-GT User Interface Programming for more information.
