Viewing the Error File

Use this procedure to view or edit the error file:

  1. On the Services tab, select the required service.
  2. Click Edit error file ....

    The error file associated with the service is displayed in Notepad. If the service is currently running, then the file will be in use; therefore, a snapshot of the file is taken, and it this copy that is displayed. The file is opened in Notepad, where you can edit and save it, as required.

  3. View and/or edit the file, as required, then save and close Notepad.
    Note: The control panel will remain in a 'wait' state until you close Notepad.
