Establishing System Security

Proper ownerships and permissions on the acurcl executable file, server configuration files, server access files, and existing data files and directories are essential to establishing a secure and functional system. Whether an AcuConnect user can access a given application depends on whether the user ID assigned the requester in the server access file, and either the Windows or UNIX native server security set up for your files, or the UNIX ownerships and permissions set on the particular file. See The Server Access File for more information.

UNIX ownerships and permissions on the acurcl executable file, server configuration file, and server access file must be strictly maintained. If the ownerships and permissions are more permissive than those specified, AcuConnect does not start.
