3.5.11 Hex Passthrough

An alternative method for embedding "transparency" data within a text stream, is called hex passthrough. A one- or two-character user defined "trigger signature" switches the processing of the datastream from normal text to hexadecimal conversion.

Hex blocks consist of a combination of hexadecimal digits and spaces. The trigger signature character is not printed in the output. It simply signals that the job is entering hex passthrough mode, and then the signature character is discarded. Hex passthrough blocks may be embedded in LU1, LU3, and LU4 print streams.

You may select the appropriate trigger from the Settings - Printer Data Stream page.
