Configure Security Across Components

This section outlines the configuration that you need to in different IDOL components to ensure that when a user does a query, they see only the documents they are entitled to see. It focuses on connectors, the Content component, the Community component, OmniGroupServer and the security libraries.

Setting up security involves the following steps:

  1. Configure the Connector  to produce metadata with ACLs and security type strings.

  2. Configure the Content Component to read the security type strings and map them to a security type so that you can use a security info string in a query and receive results that respect the security policy.

  3. Configure OmniGroupServer to collect, store and provide group information.

  4. Configure the Community Component to generate SecurityInfo strings using the group server.
