Micro Focus InfoConnect Enterprise Edition delivers PC connectivity to mainframes through a suite of terminal emulators, transports, connection tools, printer and router services, encryption modules, utilities, APIs, SDKs, and custom installers.
With InfoConnect, users can run host applications, transfer files, and integrate data into other Windows applications. The navigational, scripting, and scheduling tools simplify interaction with host applications and streamline user tasks.
InfoConnect Enterprise Edition 9.6 Update 1 includes several security improvements and a number of software fixes and enhancements. Many of these improvements were made in direct response to suggestions from our customers. We thank you for your time and valuable input. InfoConnect Enterprise Edition 9.6 Update 1 includes the following new features and resolved issues.
The following key security enhancements and improvements are provided by InfoConnect Enterprise Edition 9.6 Update 1, which utilizes the latest Reflection security, encryption, and certificate components.
9.6 Update 1 Fixes and Enhancements
Developed a fix to correctly identify and read Extra! Basic Header (.EBH) files and prevent issues with encrypted macros failing to compile or run.
Resolved a run-time error that was caused by a VBA application using early binding calls to the Extra COM interface.
9.6 Fixes and Enhancements
Added support for Elliptic Curve Cryptography (ECC) algorithms in SSH. Support for ECDSA and EdDSA (curve 25519) algorithms can be used for key-exchange, host authentication, and user authentication.
Added support for TLS version 1.3 for IBM, VT, T27, ALC, UTS, and FTP sessions.
Migrated the legacy product help to a html-based guide.
Support for the latest Window 10 semi-annual update.
Added support for Microsoft Windows Server 2019.
Improved the “look and feel” (branding, colors, and icons) of the product as part of a greater redesign of Micro Focus products.
Removed kerberized telnet settings from the Secure Shell Settings dialog box in this release.
The previous PTR (Print and Transaction Router) products have been consolidated into a single PTR product called InfoConnect Enterprise Edition for Airlines PTR Premium.

Additional software requirements
To use the Office integration features in InfoConnect Enterprise Edition, Microsoft Office 2013 or later must be installed.
NOTE:InfoConnect Enterprise Edition is a 32-bit application that can run in the 64-bit Windows environments listed above.
* Windows 7 is no longer supported by Microsoft, but InfoConnect Enterprise Edition 9.6 Update 1 should work on Windows 7. Micro Focus provides Customer Support to maintained customers on Micro Focus client desktop products that are being run on supported operating systems and meet the criteria in the Product Support Lifecycle.
If an issue does occur on Windows 7, Micro Focus Customer Support will work to isolate the cause of the problem and may ask you to duplicate the issue in a currently supported operating system environment. If we believe that the cause of the problem is in the hardware or operating system layer of the environment and does not occur outside the environment, we may direct you to your operating system vendor for technical support.
