3.1 Session Profiles

Session profiles are files that define how a session operates. You can simplify the host connection process by setting up a session profile for each host you plan to communicate with on a regular basis. You can also create multiple session profiles for each host so that you can easily access multiple host applications.

All session profiles contain the following information:

  • The terminal type (such as UTS 20, UTS 40, or UTS 60) and its configuration settings (such as the number of columns to display and the colors to use)

  • The file transfer protocol to use (such as CANDE or MAPPER) and its configuration settings (such as the commands to send to the host)

  • The connection type to use (such as InfoConnect) and its configuration settings (such as which InfoConnect path to use)

  • Other configuration settings (such as the keyboard map to use or the QuickPads to load)

Once you have created a new session profile or reconfigured an existing one, you can save it for future use. (You can configure Accessory Manager to save the session profile automatically or to prompt you to save it when you close the session or exit the application.)

If you have reconfigured an existing session profile, you can save it under its current name or under a new name. When you save an existing session profile under a new name, the original session profile remains unchanged, and the new session profile contains the data from the original one plus any changes you may have made.

The .ADP file extension remains the default for all session profiles used by Accessory Manager. However, you can assign a different file extension to session files which then becomes the new default.

Change the default extension

  1. Open the InfoConnect Accessory Manager.

  2. From the Options menu, select Global Preferences.

  3. Configure the Assign new file extension setting.
