3.1 OES Installation, Upgrade and Update

3.1.1 Package Conflict Issues

  • During the OES upgrade, you may encounter package conflict issues related to PHP version 8. To resolve this issue, you must uninstall PHP version 7 and then proceed with the OES upgrade.

  • If you perform OES physical media upgrade from OES 24.3.1 to OES 24.4 without registering to NU or SMT, you may encounter package conflict issues due to related missing dependent packages. To resolve this issue, click “keep obsolete xxd-9.1.0836-150000.5.666.1.x88_64" option and then proceed with the OES upgrade.

3.1.2 SUSE Manager 4.3.15 Issues

  • Naming convention error in one of the OES optional repositories list: OES22.4-SLE-Manager-Tools15-Debuginfo-Updates.

  • Upgrading OES using product migration process in SUSE Manager from OES 24.3.1 to 25.1 displays an exception error.

    To resolve this issue, do the following:

    1. Reschedule the product migration in SUSE Manager.

    2. Run the health script (umcServiceHealth) to verify the status of the services

      • systemctl status docker-ic.service

      • systemctl status microfocus-umc-server.service

      • systemctl status postgresql.service

    3. If the docker-ic service is inactive or has failed, run the following commands to restart the services:

      • systemctl restart docker.service

      • systemctl restart docker-ic.service

3.1.3 ZENworks Issues

When updating or upgrading an OES server to OES 25.x using ZENworks 2020 or later, the following issues may be observed:

  • Duplicate patterns and missing icons may appear in the YAST UI pattern list.

  • Some base SLES RPM packages may be missing.
