8.3 Upgrading Migrate Connector

Before you upgrade PlateSpin Migrate Connector on an existing Connector host server, ensure that you have downloaded the files for PlateSpin Migrate Connector 2019.2. The upgrade does not overwrite your Connector configuration settings file.

8.3.1 Upgrade the Migrate Connector Software

To upgrade the Migrate Connector software on each Migrate Connect host, in turn:

  1. Log in as a user with root user privileges on the Migrate Connector host server.

  2. Copy the files that you downloaded to a location on the Migrate Connector host server.

  3. Launch a terminal console, then navigate to the location where you copied the files.

  4. (Optional) Import the PTM Public Key to your keyring.

If you applied the public key prior to the installation of PlateSpin Migrate Connector 2 on the existing Connector host server, you do not need to re-import the key. The new RPM file will apply the upgrade without security warnings.

Launch a terminal, then enter one of the following commands as the root user:

    gpg --import <ptm-public-key-filename>

    or

    rpm --import <ptm-public-key-filename>
  5. Upgrade the PlateSpin Migrate Connector software and its dependent software. In a console, enter

    rpm -Uvh <ps-migrate-connector-rpm-filename>

Replace xxx.x with the actual build numbers.

The upgrade does not overwrite your Connector configuration settings file.

  6. (Optional) Visually verify that the dependent software is upgraded.

See Table 8-1, Upgraded Dependent Software for the PlateSpin Migrate Connector.

  7. Repeat the upgrade process for each Migrate Connector host server.

  8. Continue with Section 8.3.2, Verify the Migrate Connector Status in PTM.

8.3.2 Verify the Migrate Connector Status in PTM

To verify the Connector status in PTM:

  1. Log in to the PTM Web Interface as a user with PTM Administrator privileges.

  2. Select Configuration, then select Connectors.

  3. View the status of each Migrate Connector instance.

  4. Ensure that each Connector is running and connected to the PTM Server.
