Apply the LogicalOrder Column Transform on an Entire Data Source

After enabling the LogicalOrder column transform, follow these steps to automatically apply the transform on every text column in every table of a data source:

  1. In the Catalog window, double-click the File Definitions node.

The catalog's file definitions are displayed.

  2. Double-click the required file definition.

    The file definition is displayed.

  3. In the Properties pane, examine the Native Charset option - this option must be set to Hebrew 7-bit Old Code, or code pages 862, 864, or 708. If it does not, do one of the following before continuing:
    • Change the Advanced Properties Native Character Set to the desired character set.
    • To change the character set for a single file, use the Update FDs from Source command from the Tools menu and import the FD again. Click Show Advanced Import Options in the Items to Import tab and select the proper character set from the Character Set list.
    • To change the character set of multiple files, click Character Sets on the Tools menu, and make the needed changes.
  4. On the Tools menu, click Options.
  5. In the Options pane, click the Catalog tab.
  6. Click the current option selected for Automated Logical Transform and select Always to apply the transform to all text columns, or select Yes, Except For Record Key Data Items to apply the transform to all text columns, except where it would result in the loss of an index on the table.
