The Relativity product set enables the construction of a true relational database using existing COBOL application data. Relativity provides a full-featured, Windows Open Services Architecture (WOSA), Open Database Connectivity (ODBC)-compliant relational database engine. Thus, Relativity allows SQL-based client access to COBOL application data without moving, converting, replicating, or re-engineering COBOL data files.
With Relativity providing SQL-based access to COBOL data files, any ODBC-enabled client/server development application or tool can be chosen to build applications for ad hoc reporting, decision support, and specialized data processing functions. Relativity enables any working application to benefit from client/server technology without rewriting or migrating that application.
