This release provides support for CICS™ as an HTTP client consuming HTTP content from Web servers. This enables you to write CICS™ applications that can:
- Use a common protocol for business-to-business communications
- Control hardware (like printers) or software using the HTTP protocol
- Access HTTP applications that provide items of information (like share prices) and retrieve this information for use in the application.
