WebTelnetScreenGetText Function

Action

Queries rendered screen content in an active Telnet connection.

Syntax

WebTelnetScreenGetText(    in hWeb     : number,
                           in nCol     : number,
                           in nRow     : number,
                           in nLength  : number optional,
                           in nOptions : number optional ) : string;

Return value

  • String representing the screen content

Parameter Description
hWeb Valid handle to a Web connection created by WebTcpipConnect and set to Telnet mode using WebTcpipSetTelnetMode.
nCol 1-based screen column where reading of screen content is to begin.
nRow 1-based screen row from where reading screen content is to begin.
nLength Length of screen portion to be queried (optional). If omitted, all remaining screen content from given position will be returned.
nOptions

Optionally specifies output string value pre-processing; may be any of following values (optional):

  • TELNET_FLAG_TRIM_LEFT: Leading blank spaces are trimmed from rendered screen text.

  • TELNET_FLAG_TRIM_RIGHT: Trailing blank spaces are trimmed from rendered screen text.

  • TELNET_FLAG_TRIM_BOTH: Rendered text is trimmed from both sides of screen content.

  • TELNET_FLAG_UPPERCASE: Output value will be converted to upper case.

  • TELNET_FLAG_LOWERCASE: Output value will be converted to lower case.
