Compare two different object maps or two versions of the same object map to merge differences between the object maps or the
object map versions.
Asset Types list, select
Any existing object maps for the selected project display in the right pane.
Tip: If you do not see the object maps that you are interested in, ensure that the correct project is selected in the
Active Project list.
To compare two different object maps, use
Ctrl+Click to select the two object maps that you want to compare.
To compare two versions of the same object map:
Right-click on the object map that you are interested in and select
Show All Versions.
Version Detail dialog, use
Ctrl+Click to select the two versions that you want to compare.
To switch between the differences, use
Next Difference and
Previous Difference in the toolbar.
To merge the selected difference:
When merging an object map entry for which both the ID and the locator are different, both are always copied to the other
asset. There is no way to merge only the ID or the locator. However, when merging the root object map entry, only the locator
is copied to the other asset.
Copy Left to merge the selected difference from the version or asset that is displayed in the right pane to the version or asset that
is displayed in the left pane.
Copy Right to merge the selected difference from the version or asset that is displayed in the left pane to the version or asset that
is displayed in the right pane.
- Changes are highlighted in amber.
- Additions are highlighted in green.
- Items that do not exist in one of the compared assets are grayed out.
Note: While a
Silk Test Workbench user is comparing or merging an active version of an asset, the asset is locked and cannot be edited by another user. If
an asset is already open for editing in another window and you try to compare or merge an active version of the the asset,
the version is opened in read-only mode. This is indicated in the title bar of the version.
