Accessing StarTeam

To access StarTeam Server from the development environment using the StarTeam Microsoft SCC Integration, you need:

• A user name and password with which to log onto a server configuration.
• The machine name or IP address for the computer running that server configuration.
• The port number for the TCP/IP protocol for the server configuration.

To add workspaces or projects from your development environment to the server configuration, you need the access rights required to:

• Create projects and views or see existing ones.
• Create folders for the project views being accessed.

To use workspaces or projects from your development environment that are stored by the server configuration, you need the rights to:

• See the project view and the appropriate folders.
• See and modify files in those folders.

If process rules are enforced for the StarTeam project, you need the rights to:

• See and modify change requests, requirements, and tasks in the project view.
• Create and modify links on files, change requests, requirements, and tasks.
