To display a workflow in the
Workflow Designer workspace, you can:
- Create a new workflow.
- Open a workflow from the server configuration in which it resides.
- Import a
.Workflow.xml file from your workstation or a network location.
Every workflow has properties that specify:
- The type of item that the workflow controls.
- One of the item type’s properties as the field that will indicate who is currently responsible for an item. This field is
called the workflow responsibility property.
- One of the item type’s properties as the workflow control property on which the workflow is based. This field is called the
workflow control property because its values become the names of the steps in the workflow.
- The entry step for the workflow.
Workflow properties must be established when the workflow is created but can be changed at any time.
Note: Editing or changing the workflow control property or workflow responsibility property after a workflow is deployed when items
are already under workflow control may yield undesirable results.
You can create custom properties for an item type or add values to an existing property using either
Workflow Designer or
