A period has been specified in the program ID of a native program.
COBCH1642 Positional parameters must be specified before any named parameters or property initializers
When a method invocation expression is used, parameters specified by name must follow any purely positional parameters.
COBCH1643 Parameter name <param-name> specified more than once
In a method invocation expression, the same parameter name has been specified more than once.
COBCH1644 Cannot use KEY phrase with WRITE statement applied to lists
The KEY phrase has been specified for a WRITE statement that is applied to a list.
COBCH1645 KEY phrase missing
A WRITE statement referencing a dictionary item must specify the KEY phrase.
COBCH1646 Cannot DISPLAY a void method
A method that does not have a returning value has been specified as the object of a DISPLAY verb.
COBCH1647 Resolution of type <type-name1> failed dependent type <type-name2> not found
A program has referenced type-name1, which is dependent on type-name2, but type-name2 cannot be located.
COBCH1648 LEFT, RIGHT, or CENTERED expected; output phrase ignored
An OUTPUT phrase of an ACCEPT or DISPLAY statement is incomplete and therefore ignored. Add LEFT, RIGHT, or CENTERED to complete the phrase.
COBCH1649 Quoted PICTURE character-string is an ACUCOBOL extension
A character-string in a PICTURE clause contains double or single quotes, which you must remove.
COBCH1650 Indicator column contains $ or >, but no directive follows; line ignored
A valid directive setting statement does not precede the $ or > symbol.
COBCH1651 Operand must be a constant value
A non-constant expression has been specified when a constant is required.
COBCH1652 Property initializers must be specified after parameters
A property initializer has been specified before the positional parameters in an attribute specification.
COBCH1653 Can only specify property in attribute specification and new expression
A property has been specified incorrectly.
COBCH1654 Should be elementary; MODE IS BLOCK assumed
You have attempted to perform an ACCEPT or DISPLAY statement on a group item, but have specified an optional phrase that is only applicable to elementary items.
COBCH1655 Word var1 is not allowed here; ignoring word for ACUCOBOL compatibility
A reserved word has been used in a context where it is not allowed by the language syntax.
COBCH1656 Incorrect syntax, VARYING expected; assuming CONTAINS
The indicated RECORD clause has incorrect syntax.
COBCH1657 ACU file syntax extension is not supported
The specified file syntax extension is not supported in Visual COBOL.
COBCH1658 VALUE OF FILE-ID overriding ASSIGN
A VALUE OF FILE-ID clause in the File Description entry is overriding the external-file-reference already specified in an ASSIGN clause in the File Control entry.
COBCH1659 VALUE clause literal does not conform to PICTURE. Changed to zero.
