To start Visual COBOL as an administrator

Depending on the files you create or edit using Visual COBOL, you might need to start Visual COBOL as an administrator. To do this:

This topic applies to Windows environments only.

Windows 7 and Earlier
  1. From your desktop, click Start > All Programs > Micro Focus Visual COBOL .
  2. Right-click Visual COBOL for Eclipse; then select Run as administrator from the context menu.
  3. If prompted, click Yes.
Windows 8, 8.1, and Windows Server 2012
  1. From the Start screen, right-click the Visual COBOL for Eclipse tile.
  2. On the bottom of the page, click Run as administrator.
  3. If prompted, click Yes.
Windows 10 and Later
  1. Click Start > Micro Focus Visual COBOL.
  2. Right-click Visual COBOL for Eclipse.
  3. On the context menu, click More > Run as administrator.
