KEYCOMPRESS

The KEYCOMPRESS option specifies the type of key compression in use.

Syntax:

KEYCOMPRESS = integer

Parameters:

0
Key compression is not in use.
1
Duplicater key compression is in use.
2
Leading character compression is in use.
4
Trailing space compression is in use.
8
Trailing null compression is in use.

Properties:

Default: 0

Comments:

To specify a combination of the various types of compression, add together the appropriate numbers. For example, 3 specifies duplicate key compression and leading character compression.

Note:
  • Trailing space compression and trailing null compression are mutually exclusive.
  • The KEYCOMPRESS parameter affects key compression for all indexes belonging to the file.
