Oracle's Instant Client

Restriction: This topic applies only when a Database Connectors license has been installed via the Micro Focus License Management System, and applies to Windows platforms only.

Instant Client, a free download from Oracle, allows you to run your applications without installing the standard Oracle client or having an ORACLE_HOME.

Note: Setting up Oracle Instant Client can be challenging and should be performed by advanced users only.

To use Oracle's Instant Client with for Oracle, download the "Basic Lite" and "SQL*Plus" packages from Oracle. Follow Oracle's instructions to install and configure the products and test their connection using SQL*Plus before proceeding to work with .

Once you have completed this process, test the installation.
