To start the ADO.NET Connection Editor as an administrator

In standalone mode:
Windows 7 and Earlier
  1. From your Windows desktop, click Start > All Programs > Micro Focus Visual COBOL > Data Tools > Data Connections.
  2. On the context menu, right-click ADO.NET Connection Editor.
  3. Select Run as administrator from the context menu.
  4. If prompted, click Yes.
Windows 8.1
  1. From the Windows Start screen, right-click the ADO.NET Connection Editor tile.
  2. On the bottom of the page, click Run as administrator.
  3. If prompted, click Yes.
Windows 10 and Later
  1. From your Windows desktop, click Start > Micro Focus Visual COBOL.
  2. Right-click ADO.NET Connection Editor.
  3. On the context menu, click More > Run as administrator.
From Visual Studio:
  1. Start Visual COBOL as an administrator.
  2. In Visual Studio, click View > Micro Focus SQL Tools > ADO.NET Connection Editor.
From the OpenESQL Assistant:
  1. Start Visual COBOL as an administrator.
  2. Start the OpenESQL Assistant.
  3. From the OpenESQL Assistant, click Create New QueryADO.NET Connection Editor.
