To view a system trace

  1. While your enterprise server instance is in Start mode, start or access the ESCWA Web interface.
  2. Select your enterprise server instance on the list of default servers in the tree view.
  3. Click Monitor > Logs > Trace.
  4. To optionally change the level of trace information displayed, click LEVEL and then select one of the following:
    0
Service start, module start, module end, service end.
    1
Enterprise server API entries and exits.
    2
    Subsystem trace entries.
    3
All entries where it is possible to provide some formatting of the data.
    4
All trace entries. This is the default.

Each level includes all lower-level information. Local trace tables (traces for SEPs) only have levels 0 and 1.

  5. Click DETAILS to see details of the trace.
Note: The X dataset contains traces triggered by the external command casdump /d. You use casdump /d when a dump cannot be obtained normally; for example, when the enterprise server is not responding and shared memory is locked. The dataset has the filename casdumpx.rec.
