Micro Focus XDBC Local and Micro Focus XDBC Server use the same installer file. If you have a license to use XDBC Server, you can access your data using either a local or network configuration. However, if you have a Local license, you can only access your data using a local configuration as the client installer is not available with this license type.
If you will be using Micro Focus XDBC Local to process COBOL data on your local server, you need to install the Server software and configure it for your specific Local configuration. Once you have completed this configuration, you can start the server and test the data access locally. If you will be using Micro Focus XDBC in a client-server configuration, you will first need to install the Server software and configure it. Once you have completed this configuration, you can start the server and test the data access from your client.
