Introduction

Two configuration files are central to Micro Focus XDBC. By default, they are named mfdbc.cfg and net.ini. In local configurations, only mfdbc.cfg is used. Network installations require both configuration files. In this case, mfdbc.cfg resides on the server and net.ini resides on the client.

Note: mfdbc.cfg can be named anything. You specify the name of the file when you set up the data source name (DSN) on the client or when using various command-line tools. net.ini, on the other hand, must retain its default name and location.
