Micro Focus Announces Voltage SecureData Support for Serverless Compute, Enabling Enterprises to Run Secure Workloads Within FaaS

New Integration Implements Data-Centric Protection with Functions-as-a-Service (FaaS) Across All Major Clouds

SANTA CLARA, CA – March 9, 2021Micro Focus (LSE: MCRO; NYSE: MFGP) today announced that Voltage SecureData now supports integrations with a broad array of native cloud services on AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform to run data protection functions within serverless compute (FaaS). The new integration reduces the restrictions and limitations on security measures traditionally imposed by serverless architecture, such as implementation, operation, and measurement, enabling enterprises to migrate workloads to the cloud securely without compromising security or data privacy.

Voltage SecureData support for serverless computing allows enterprises to shift to native cloud services while limiting new security concerns for their applications handling sensitive data. Voltage SecureData helps organizations strengthen their cyber resilience by providing an end-to-end data-centric approach to enterprise data protection. It enables customers to take advantage of the benefits of serverless computing environments, reducing the need for deploying and managing complex and persistent infrastructure typically associated with building and launching microservices functions that are typically invoked by event triggers.

“As cloud services shift to serverless models, it’s critical and extremely valuable for customers to be able to run data protection workloads as functions, triggered by events such as sensitive files dropped into an AWS S3 bucket, data streamed through Azure Event Hubs, Google Pub/Sub topic messages, or queries on protected data within Snowflake Data Cloud,” said Sid Dutta, Senior Data Security Product Executive, Micro Focus. “Voltage SecureData has been rapidly expanding its cloud capabilities to help enterprises to provide robust, industry-standard data-centric protection technologies, and our newest offering now natively supports data-centric protection workloads triggered and executed across AWS Lambda, Azure Functions, and Google Functions.”

As organizations navigate the borderless flow of information, the protection of data over its entire lifecycle—from the point at which it’s captured, throughout its movement across the extended enterprise – is critical.  Voltage SecureData offers a comprehensive data protection platform without exposing live information to high‑risk, high-threat environments. Information protected by Voltage SecureData is in compliance with PCI DSS, CCPA, HIPAA, GLBA, state and national data privacy regulations, as well as the European Commission’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) that is applicable in all EU member states.
