The process of upgrading and installing the Policy Editor is the same. For more information, see Installing Policy Editor.
IMPORTANT:To ensure uninterrupted functioning of policies and events, upgrade the Policy Editor to the respective Change Guardian version of the server.
You can upgrade Change Guardian Agent for Windows manually or by using Manage Agents dashboard in the web console. You can also roll back and update.
NOTE:Ensure that the system on which Change Guardian for Windows is running has the latest patch of Microsoft Windows running.
NOTE:The procedure for upgrading the Change Guardian Agent for Windows manually is the same as the procedure for installing them, except that you do not need to repeat the process of adding agents to Manage Agents dashboard. Do not rename the default .msi installer package. For more information, see Manual Installation.
To upgrade using Manage Agents dashboard in Change Guardian CE 25.1 (v6.3.2):
To upgrade windows agents, unistall the Client Agent Manager and then reinstall the agents.
From the agent list, select the agents you want to upgrade.
Click Manage Installation > > Uninstall Client Agent Manager.
Click Start Uninstall, to uninstall the Client Agent Manager.
From the agent list, select the agents that you want to reinstall.
Click Manage Installation > Install Agents.
Provide login credentials to connect to the agents and click Next.
NOTE:The account must be a local administrator account or a domain account in the Local Administrators group of the asset.
Select the version of the agent you want to deploy.
Click Start Installation, to reinstall the agents.
To upgrade using Manage Agents dashboard (6.3.1 or before):
From the agent list, select the agent you want to upgrade.
You can select multiple assets using the same credentials to connect to them.
(Conditional) Provide login credentials to connect to the agents and click Next.
The account must be a local administrator account or a domain account in the Local Administrators group of the asset.
Click Manage Installation > Upgrade Agents.
Select the version of the agent you want to upgrade.
Click Start Upgrade.
You can upgrade Change Guardian Agent for UNIX by using Manage Agents dashboard in the web console.
To upgrade Change Guardian Agent for UNIX:
From the agent list, select the agent you want to upgrade.
If you select multiple computers, you must use the same credentials in all computers.
Click Manage Installation > Upgrade Agents.
Select the version of the agent you want to upgrade.
Click Start Upgrade.
NOTE:The upgrade to the newer version of Change Guardian Event Collector Add-on for Windows is currently not supported. To upgrade, uninstall the current version and install a newer version of the collector.
To upgrade Change Guardian Event Collector Add-on for Windows:
Open the directory where the existing collector add-on is located and run the installer to uninstall the collector.
