Active dates for items
You can set an active date range for most items in Content Manager:
- Right-click the item, select Properties and then the Active tab
- Record Types - see Record Types
- Locations - see Locations and users
- Thesaurus - see Thesaurus
- Classifications - see Classifications
- Retention Schedules - see Retention Schedules and disposal of records
- Holds - see Holds
- Security caveats - see Security caveats administration
NOTE: The active dates function checks whether the selected Location is default Location for any of the following functions:
- Record Types
- Actions
- Workflow Supervisor
If the Location is default for any of these, Content Manager will not save the active dates.
- Active From - type the start date that the item will be active from or use the calendar button to select a date.

- Active To - type the end date that the item will be active to or use the calendar button to select a date
IMPORTANT: When multiple items are selected to modify their Active Dates, if an option(s) is not enabled, then that Active Date field will not be modified for the selected items. If an Active Date option is selected but no value is defined, that is, the field is left blank, then the relevant Active Date field will be set to blank on the selected items.
