Database Connections

To connect the Micro Focus Database File Handler to a database you can use either an ODBC data source name, or syntax that makes a direct connection to the database.

Both types of connect use a database configuration file (MFDBFH.cfg) to link the file handler with database server instances and the databases available within them, but for certain types of database (such as Db2), it is preferable to use the direct connection string instead of an ODBC data source.
