Configure All Datasets to go via Fileshare

We next configure this enterprise server region to send all I/O requests for all datasets accessed by applications running in it to the Fileshare server.

  1. On the ESCWA Administration page, select FSDEMO from the directory server list.

    The instance details are displayed in the right-hand pane.

  2. In the Region Features group, ensure that the following options are selected, and then click Apply:
    • MSS Enabled
    • JES Enabled
  3. Click the JES tab.

    The JES Configuration details are displayed.

  4. Complete the following fields:
    Option Description Set to:
    JES Program Path The path for the directory containing executable files to be run by your JCL jobs. path-to-fsdir
    System Catalog The path and file name of the system catalog. This is a file that holds the details of data files, their attributes and locations. \$\$server1\datasets\catalog.dat
    Default Allocated Dataset Location The $$ format of the Fileshare server to use. In this example, also include the name of the subdirectory you created previously; for example: \$\$server1\datasets
    System Procedure Library The set of cataloged PDS data set names that will be searched to resolve JCL procedure names. SYS1.PROCLIB
  5. Click Apply.
  6. To start the region, hover over FSDEMO in the left-hand pane, and then click Start instance (Start).

    The Region Start Options dialog box is displayed.

  7. Click Start.
