4.4.2 3270 Display Sessions

The display session window presents information from the mainframe, bringing the same capabilities of a mainframe terminal to your PC. Extra! can emulate one or more sessions at a time, giving you a display session window for each terminal emulated. While you work in a display session window, your PC keyboard no longer generates PC characters, but instead produces 3270 display keyboard characters and special functions. Each display session has its own connection to the mainframe.

Extra! can emulate mainframe terminal models 2, 3, 4, and 5. These models differ by the number of rows and columns of text that they display. The host graphics features in Extra! provide graphics terminal emulation.

You use the Display Settings pages to define options for a 3270 display or graphics session. Depending on your specific requirements, you may want to make changes to the appearance of your display or graphics session window.
