Record Menu

The Record menu contains the following commands:

Command (Shortcut)
Description
Window Declarations (Ctrl+W)

This functionality is supported only if you are using the Classic Agent. For additional information, refer to the Silk Test Classic Classic Agent Help.

Opens the Record Windows Declarations dialog box. You can use this dialog to record descriptions, which are called window declarations, of the GUI objects in your application and to insert them into a declarations file, which is called an include file (*.inc).
Application State (Classic Agent: Ctrl+L, Open Agent: Ctrl+Shift+S)
Opens the Record Application State dialog box, which you can use to define an application state routine that Silk Test Classic runs before it executes your test case. For additional information, see Recording an Application State.
Testcase (Ctrl+Shift+T)
Opens the Record Testcase dialog box, which you can use to record an entire test case, specifying the application state of your choice and including verification statements. If you are using the Open Agent, you can select whether you want to record a 4Test test case or a keyword-driven test. For additional information on recording a test case with the Open Agent, see Creating Testcases with the Open Agent. For additional information on recording a test case with the Classic Agent, refer to the Silk Test Classic Classic Agent Help.
Method (Ctrl+Shift+M)
This is only available when an include file or script file is the active window and the insertion point is within a class or object declaration. For additional information, see Recording a Method for a GUI Object.
Actions
Enables you to record additional actions into existing test scripts.
Window Locators (Ctrl+Shift+L)

This functionality is supported only if you are using the Open Agent.

Opens the Locator Spy dialog box, which you can use to record window declarations or locators for the Open Agent. For additional information, see Recording Locators Using the Locator Spy.

Class

This functionality is supported only if you are using the Classic Agent. For additional information, refer to the Silk Test Classic Classic Agent Help.

Select one of the following:
Scripted
Displays the Record Class Scripted dialog box, which you can use to record a new Visual Basic, Active X, or Java class declaration.
Accessibility
Displays the Windows Accessibility dialog box, which you can use to record a new class for testing Microsoft applications that have the built-in Accessibility features enabled.
Window Identifiers (Ctrl+I)

This functionality is supported only if you are using the Classic Agent. For additional information, refer to the Silk Test Classic Classic Agent Help.

Opens the Record Window Identifiers dialog box, which you can use to record a fully qualified GUI object name.

Window Locations

This functionality is supported only if you are using the Classic Agent. For additional information, refer to the Silk Test Classic Classic Agent Help.

Opens the Record Window Locations dialog box, which you can use to record the x, y locations of a graphical control.

Defined Window

This functionality is supported only if you are using the Classic Agent. For additional information, refer to the Silk Test Classic Classic Agent Help.

Opens the Record Defined Window dialog box, which you can use to help Silk Test Classic recognize a window while you are recording a test case.

Window Tags

This functionality is supported only if you are using the Classic Agent. For additional information, refer to the Silk Test Classic Classic Agent Help.

Opens the Record Window Tags dialog box, which you can use to record tags for windows that Silk Test Classic cannot recognize.
