A Windows-based client application program (or tool) that has been designed to use the ODBC interface to access data external to the application. The ODBC interface requires that a data source be configured in order to allow data access. Examples of such programs include MS-Access, MS-Excel, Lotus 1,2,3, Crystal Reports, PowerBuilder, and so forth.
