The StarTeam Microsoft SCC Integration operates with various third-party products that use the Microsoft Source Code Control (SCC) Application Programming Interface (API). This API, originally designed by Microsoft to allow applications to work with Microsoft Visual SourceSafe, enables you to perform version control operations, such as checking files in and out, using StarTeam as the SCC provider.
In addition to installing your development environment application or third-party SCC compliant product and the Integration, you can also optionally install the StarTeam Cross-Platform Client on your workstation. Having a copy of the StarTeam Cross-Platform Client installed enables you to change StarTeam personal options or StarTeam project properties.
