AcuToWeb is an innovative technology that displays the user interface portion of your server-based ACUCOBOL-GT application to a client-side browser.
AcuToWeb Installation and Licensing
AcuToWeb can be installed as part of the main extend Interoperability Suite installer, and is licensed using the AcuConnect licensing scheme.
Preparing Your Application
AcuToWeb relies on your program or application to be run with AcuConnect, and so when preparing your application, you must bear that in mind.
Getting Started (Windows)
To successfully run an application through AcuToWeb, you need to configure both AcuConnect and AcuToWeb.
AcuToWeb Control Panel
For Windows, there is an AcuToWeb Control Panel, which comes in a 32- and a 64-bit version. It enables you to configure an AcuToWeb environment for your COBOL applications.
AcuToWeb Gateway is the server module responsible for routing all the traffic between AcuConnect and the connected web browser.
Customizing the Appearance of AcuToWeb Applications
AcuToWeb uses cascading style sheets (CSS) to change the COBOL display to HTML. The CSS is implemented in your application as a theme, and themes are configured to be part of your Gateway engine.
The AcuToWeb Desktop is a client-side component that is responsible for processing certain resources within the application that cannot be processed via the browser.
AcuToWeb Security and Authentication
Client authentication when a client uses AcuToWeb to run an application is provided by AcuConnect, which can be implemented a number of ways.
Troubleshooting Your Application
If you experience problems running your applications through AcuToWeb, run the application in debug mode, and with additional diagnostics enabled.
Limitations and Known Issues
AcuToWeb has certain limitations as to what your applications can contain, or on which platforms they can be deployed.
