Micro Focus Recognized as a Leader in Gartner 2020 Magic Quadrant for Application Security Testing

Micro Focus Named a Leader for the Seventh Time

Santa Clara, CA – May 1, 2020 – Micro Focus (LSE: MCRO; NYSE: MFGP) today announced that Micro Focus  has been recognized as a Leader in the Gartner 2020 Magic Quadrant for Application Security Testing report for Fortify. This is the seventh time that Micro Focus has been named a Leader in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Application Security Testing report.*

In its evaluation, Gartner reviewed several AST products and services contained within the Micro Focus Fortify portfolio, including: Static Code Analyzer (SAST), WebInspect (DAST), Software Security Center, Fortify on Demand (SaaS) and Application Defender (RASP).

According to the report, “Gartner has observed that the major driver in the evolution of the AST market is in the need to support enterprise DevOps initiatives. Customers require offerings that provide high assurance, high value findings while not unnecessarily slowing down development efforts.”

“The evolution of the threat landscape fundamentally requires enterprises to employ an adapted security posture that addresses the many weaknesses that are increasingly identified and exploited at the application layer,” said Scott Johnson, GM for Fortify. “We believe that being recognized as a Leader in application security testing solutions for the seventh year is a testament to the investment we have made to a more DevSecOps developer-centric model, and ability to meet the current and future needs of customers.”

Fortify delivers complete solutions for both on-premise and as-a-service offerings that enable customers the flexibility of choice based on their application security needs. The updated portfolio is fully integrated into any DevOps tool chain with enhanced automation capabilities, and is just one of the ways Micro Focus helps customers bridge existing and the emerging technologies in the race to digital transformation.
