System Options User Interface page
The User Interface page enables you to set lockdown, shortcuts and double click options.
- Lockdown style - enables an administrator or user with the Change System Settings permission to force users to use global settings.
See Setting up Global Settings.
Select the type of Lockdown you want to apply to Content Manager.
- No Lock Down - users can modify settings, they can get global settings and are allowed to change settings.
See Get Global.
- Session Lock Down - users can modify settings but the changes are not retained - the next time a user logs on to Content Manager, they will retrieve the global settings.
- Lock Down - users can not modify settings.
You can bypass lockdown for individual users or groups of users by using either the Bypass Lockdown or Change System Settings permissions.
Use the Bypass loading global toolbar and menu permission to enable users to make changes to their toolbars and menus.

For example, you could bypass it for visually impaired users who need to have a different set of font settings etc.

- No Lock Down - users can modify settings, they can get global settings and are allowed to change settings.
- Short cuts - recent tab limits - if the Tab Bar feature is enabled on the View ribbon, set the upper limit of tabs displayed for My containers and Recent documents.
- Double Click Style for documents in Content Manager Desktop - select on the following options:
- Edit - opens the document in Edit mode
- View - opens the document in the Viewer
- Properties - Opens the record properties dialogue
- Double Click Style for documents in Content Manager
- Edit - opens the document in Edit mode
- View - opens the document using the Viewer
- Properties - opens the record properties dialogue
- Double Click Style for containers
- Navigate to Contents - displays the records inside the container. If there are no contents, the container properties dialogue will display
- Properties - opens the container properties dialogue
- Navigate to Contents and Alternative Contents - displays the records within the container as well as those that have an Alternatively Within relationship with the container.
- Run External Link on Double Click - an external application can be set to open on double click. This setting overrides the other double click options. Only a predefined external link can be entered, see External Links.
- Allow users to set the double click behaviour for records - if enabled, the system options for double clicking are not reflected in the user options, see Options User Interface page. If not enabled, then the double clicking system options are reflected in the user options and cannot be changed by the user.
- Additional Field Page Display Threshold - this option defines the number of items that are displayed on the Custom Property page where the page will be displayed as a form, rather than a list. The maximum number of items that can be included to display the page as a form is 50.
- Hide Copy Desktop Link - select this option to hide the copy link option from the records shortcut menu options. See Records shortcut menu, Send To option.
