About Miscellaneous permissions
- Run Statistics - permission to define statistical reports.
Specifically, enables a user to:
- Define new statistics reports
- Modify statistical report definitions
- Delete an existing statistical report definition
- Use the following commands from Home - Layouts:
- Report - see Report Designer dialogue box
- Report Graphics - see Report graphics
- Web Publisher - see Creating Web publisher layouts
- Use the following commands from Home - Statistical:
- Record Statistics Reports - see Record statistics reports
- Action Record Statistics Reports - see Action statistics reports
- Workflow Statistics Reports - see Workflow statistics reports
- Record Creation Statistics - see Record creation statistics reports
- Event Statistics - see Event statistics reports
- Change System Settings - permission to use Administration - System Options.
Edit Calendar and Security and Audit Administrator permissions are also required to use this function fully.
In addition, where global settings can be created for user options, this permission is required to create these global settings.
Currently applies to the Get Global option for Reporter fonts.

External Link and Icon Administrator - gives the user permission to create and maintain External Links and External Icons.
- Edit Business Calendar - permission to edit the Content Manager calendar.
- Use Caption Editor - enables you to run the Content Manager caption editor in Administration - Caption Editor
- Search Administrator - extends the functionality provided by the Can Save Searches permission.
Users who create saved searches need it to:
- make a record search public, making it available to other users
- manage the list of blocked search methods
- modify existing saved searches they have access to by using the Edit Query button
- Security and Audit Administrator - makes you a security and audit administrator.
Makes you responsible for maintaining the lists of security levels and security caveats available in Content Manager.
Specifically, you can:
- Create a new security level
- Modify any characteristics of an existing security level
- Delete an existing security level
- Create a new security caveat
- Modify any characteristics of an existing security caveat
- Delete an existing security caveat
- Browse the online audit log Manage - Online Audit Log.
- Only the security and audit administrator will be presented with the Security page in System Options.
In addition, this permission is required to modify the Permissions tab.
Users with Modify Logins And User Profiles permission are allowed to modify or create logins within the limit of their own security profile.
Users with the additional Security and Audit Administrator permission can also modify user profiles outside their own security limitations.
- Census administrator - add, modify or delete census items.
- Import and Export - permission to use the Content Manager DataPort import and export tool in Administration - Import/Export
- Download data from Barcode Scanners - permission to use the Scan Barcodes command
- Can Save Searches - determines whether a user can create a saved search in Content Manager.
The permission is required to enable a search to be:
- Saved using File - Save or File - Save As
- Modified after it has been previously saved
- Deleted
- Bypass View Metadata Access Controls - permission to view items despite being specifically prevented by a View Metadata access control
- Bypass All Access Controls - permission to perform a function despite being specifically prevented by a particular access control
CAUTION: Any Access Controls or security on records will be ignored for that user.
- Bypass Access Exclusions - suppresses the security filter placed on queries to check that a user is not excluded from access due to exclusions configuration. See Exclusions The permission is on by default for an administrator and can be turned on for a user of any user type.
- Bypass Options Lockdown - enables a user to bypass the global settings of Content Manager, for example, Lockdown can be bypassed for visually impaired users who need to have a different set of font settings etc.
- Bypass Audit Logging - enables a user to bypass Content Manager audit logging. This is designed for system user accounts that make mass changes, for example, through the SDK. Audit logging will not log actions to add, modify, delete, or about storage transfer.
- Bypass ribbon and appearance lockdown - users with this permission can bypass user interface lockdown settings
- Bypass blocked search methods - enables users to use the search methods that are blocked for other users, including administrators
- Content Index Administrator - enables a user to perform the following Administration > Content Indexes tasks:
- Records
- Users
- Auto-Classifications
- SharePoint Integration Administrator - enables the user to carry out administrative tasks on SharePoint items in Content Manager
- Can Manage User Labels - allocated to a Knowledge Worker by default.

If the labels are attached to a person, then you need the "Can Manage User Labels" permission and you need to have been specifically granted access to the manage user labels access control (i.e. the access control does not say 'Everyone')

If the labels are attached another type of location, then you need the "Can Manage User Labels" permission and to be a member of that location and you need the access control granted (the access control can be Everyone)
- Can Manage Check In Styles - an administrator can change the owner of a check in style. An administrator is determined as a user who has the permission Modify logins and user profiles.
- A user with the permission "Can Manage Check In Styles" is able to create or modify and delete a 'Group' Check In Style.
- A user needs to belong to a location to be able to manage the Check In Style for that location.
- A user needs to have the Access Control "Manage Group Items" to be able to add or modify a Check In Style for that location. See Function Access Controls.
- The following location types cannot own a Check In Style: Venue, Storage Provider, Unknown.
- Content Manager currently doesn't support group Check In Style for Matters. See Clients and Matters Legal Structure.
- Server Monitoring - only used by an SDK-based application that wants to use an SDK class called EventMonitor. The Event Monitor allows the SDK application to get information out of the system about event processing, like what is provided by Enterprise Studio.
- Update Policy Centre Solution Schedules - allows an administrator to import retention schedules and classifications supplied by Iron Mountain's cloud-based subscription service called Policy Centre Solution.
- View Client Side Log Files - users with this permission will have access to the Content Manager Setup Information - Log Files, System Options and System Options Defaults properties.
- Microsoft Teams Integration Administrator - users with this permission will have access to the Capture Channels and Capture Chat options in the Content Manager Microsoft Teams integration.
- Alert creator - users with this permission will be able to create Alerts using the Manage - Alerts option.
